Streetball Festival to be Held in Georgian-Ossetian Conflict Zone 
On July 24, a streetball festival will be held in the Georgian–Ossetian conflict zone under the aegis of the National Movement.
10 teams representing ethnic minorities, including Assyrian, Armenian, Russian, Azeri, Jewish, Ossetian, Greek and other ethnicities will take part in the competition.
The competition is aimed at popularizing streetball, an urban basketball variety, and promoting healthy lifestyles.

Russiato Supply Electricity to Georgia Via Azerbaijan
RAO-UES intends to supply electricity to Georgia via Azerbaijan.
Marlen Askerov, vice president of Azerenergy stated at the press conference that talks are being held between the Russian company and Azerbaijan’s Azerenergy JSC regarding the issue.
The Russian company manages Georgian high-voltage and distributing networks. The company intends to transport electricity via Azerbaijan to sell electricity and supply its networks.
Presently Russia is providing electricity to Azerbaijan for domestic use.

NATO Information Center to Familiarize Kakheti Residents with the Alliance
From July 20, the NATO Information Center will hold a cycle of meetings in Kakheti province to familiarize local residents with the tasks and aims of the alliance, and the perspectives of Georgia’s accession.
On Friday, a meeting of representatives of the NATO Information Center with students who cooperate actively with NGO World Vision was held. On July 23, the Kakheti bureau of the NATO Information Center will hold a rally under the motto “Kakheti Expects Information on NATO.” The rally will be held in Telavi’s central park. Its participants will answer questions and distribute literature.
On July 25, in the Telavi regional administration’s building another meeting is planned.

De facto Abkhaz Interior Minister Denies Reports of Robbed Russian Tourists
De facto Abkhaz interior minister Otar Khetsia denied online reports that a group of Russian tourists was robbed in New Aton.
“No crime was registered in New Aton last night,” Khetsia stated.
On July 20, online newspapers asserted that tourists from the Saratov District of Russia were robbed and, failing to promptly apply to the local authorities, were unable to see their attackers arrested.

Ossetian Conference Elects Delegates
On July 22 in the village of Tamarasheni in the South Ossetian conflict zone, a conference was held with the participation of Ossetian nationals residing in different districts of Georgia and abroad. The forum was organized by the South Ossetian People for Peace movement, according to the press center of the temporary administrative unit of South Ossetia.
Conference participants elected 15 representatives who will take part in the work of the Georgian State Commission on Determination of the Status of the Autonomy of South Ossetia within Georgia.
To prepare for the forum, regional assemblies of Ossetian nationals were held in Kakheti, Akhalgori District, Gori, Kareli, Khashuri, Bakuriani, Mtskheta, Dusheti, Rustavi, and Tbilisi. 120 delegates were elected for participation in the conference.
Furthermore, it is expected that Ossetian nationals residing in Ukraine, Russia, Lithuania, Uzbekistan, the US and Germany will take part in the forum.
The participants of the regional assemblies noted that stable peace should be established in South Ossetia, and an economic revival should start in the region.

Combined South Ossetian Wrestling Team Goes to International Competition
For the first time, the combined wrestling team of South Ossetia will participate in international competitions. The combined team left for the European championship in Kiev from Tbilisi on July 20.     
Six sportsmen from the region will compete. The delegation also includes a referee and a coach.
The first match was held on July 21. The team is to return on July 25.
