245 houses being built in Georgia

245 houses are currently under registered construction in the country, about 90 percent of which are in Tbilisi. There are around 70 construction companies in Georgia, according to the newspaper 24 Saati.

In Tbilisi, one square meter in the newly-constructed houses costs anywhere from USD 400 to USD 1400. Houses are most costly in Old Town districts and Vake. Since spring, prices have also shot up in the districts of Tskneti, Bagebi and Plekhanovi by USD 100-150 on each square meter.

In the provinces, most construction is in tourist and resort area, where one square meter costs USD 700-1200 to build.
