Gazprom owes Georgia USD 2 million in unpaid transit tariffs

Russian energy giant Gazprom owes Georgia USD 2 million, said the general director of the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation, Alexandre Khetaguri.

Gazprom is obligated to pay a tariff of ten percent on natural gas sent through Georgia to Armenia, according to the news agency Regnum. Gazprom hasn't paid in the last three months, Khetaguri claims.

Armros Gazprom has the distribution rights to Russian natural gas ion Armenia. 57.59 percent of the company is owned by Gazprom; the Armenian government holds another 34.7 percent, with the remaining shares owned by the Russian company Itera.
