HIV/AIDS on the increase in Georgia

The number of HIV/AIDS cases in Georgia is increasing, writes the newspaper Akhali Taoba. Between January and July 203 new cases were detected. Most victims are drug addicts.

Georgia's first recorded case of HIV/AIDS was in Sokhumi in 1989. So far, 1359 HIV/AIDS cases have been detected, of which 1043 are male patients and 316 are female.
