Health deteriorates for female prisoner on hunger strike
The health of one of the prisoners taking part in a hunger strike worsened, two weeks into the protest at a prison for women and juveniles

Chair of NGO Former Political Prisoners for Human Rights Nana Kakabadze said the health of prisoner Anna Mazanishvili has gotten worse.

"It happened because she was not offered medical aid in time," Kakabadze said.

Mazanishvili began serving a 12-year sentence on January 10, 2007, on charges of trafficking.

Inmates at the prison announced a hunger strike in hopes authorities would address reportedly dire conditions at the facility.
