Salome Zourabichvili
blasts officials for evicting Union of Writers
Salome Zourabichvili, leader of the political party Georgia's Way, criticized
the Economic Development Ministry for evicting the Union of Writers
from a building on Machabeli Street in the center of Tbilisi.
"This is one more confirmation of the infringement of private property.
The building where the Union of Writers of Georgia was placed was its
property completely. The building was granted to Georgian writers,"
Zourabichvili said.
The building, built in 1905, was handed over to the Union of Writers
by famous Georgian patron David Sarajishvili. On the night of August
21, Tbilisi municipality officers evicted the Union of Writers pursuant
