“Zurab Tsereteli calls on Russian President Putin to stay for a third presidential term”
The Russian cultural elite have presented a petition calling on President Vladimir Putin to stay for a third presidential term, according to Rezonansi.
The petition—with signatories including well-known Georgian-born artist and president of the Russian Academy of Arts, Zurab Tsereteli—was published by the newspaper Rosiskaia Gazeta.
The document lists over 65 000 members of the cultural elite from all over the Russian Federation who call for a constitutional change to allow Putin to remain in office after his current term expires next year.

“Equality Institute found new movement in Khobi”
A branch of the NGO Equality Institute in Khobi, a town in western Georgia, founded a regional youth organization named Youth Against Violence, according to Akhali Taoba.
NGO representatives presented the new movement outside Khobi Theatre on October 22 and called on local youths to join the cause.
A protest organized by Youth Against Violence was held in front of Khobi Court, demanding independent and fair court proceedings.
There are plans to start a similar movement in Kutaisi in western Georgia on October 25, according to NGO representative Jaba Jishkariani.

“Kakheti governor delivers flour to villagers”
Gia Natsvlishvili, governor of Kakheti province, helped deliver flour to residents of the village Vachnadzeaanti, in Gurjaani district, on October 23, according to Sakartvelos Respublika.
Judo champions Irakli Tsirekidze and Lomer Zhorzholiani also helped in the flour distribution, which is part of the government’s one-off assistance scheme for pensioners, teachers and the socially vulnerable.

“Military Information Workshop opens in Tbilisi”
A Military Information Workshop was officially opened at the Sheraton Metekhi Palace hotel in Tbilisi on October 22, according to Sakartvelos Respublika.
The workshop is part of the NATO Partnership for Peace (PfP) program.
The event was organized with the support of the NATO Allied Command Transformation.
Representatives of NATO, PfP and the Mediterranean Dialogue countries are taking part in the workshop. Georgia’s J-2 Intelligence and Military Intelligence Departments are also participating in it.
The workshop aims to introduce representatives from the intelligence departments of eleven countries to NATO structural transformation, the alliance principles and its international operations.
When the workshop finishes on October 26, certificates will be awarded to all taking part.
