Iconic 70s band Boney M recently aided Tbilisi’s ‘disco diplomacy’ effort in regaining breakaway South Ossetia by playing an electrifying show in a state-controlled village in the conflict zone. And for Sunday’s Tbilisoba, famed Italian act Ricci e Poverti put on a performance in Freedom Square. What band would you like to bring to Georgia next?

“I would like to see ABBA. We grew up listening to their songs and I love them very much.”
Maia, teacher, 32

“I’d love the Spice Girls to come to Georgia. That’d be cool. They were very famous awhile back, but I doubt they’d come here.”
Nato, schoolgirl, 16

“I’m crazy about Scorpion and desperate to see them live. I certainly wouldn’t miss them if they played here.”
Keti, student, 19

“I am a fan of DDT and would be the happiest girl alive if they came to Georgia.”
Nini, student, 21

“Sting, Sting and Sting…He’s by far my favorite.”
Maiko, dancer, 26

“All my friends would love to see 50 Cent. I love him.”
Nikusha, computer specialist, 24

“I would have to say Enrique Iglesias…even though he’s not a band.”
Kristina, lawyer, 23

“As we seem to be getting some of the older acts, I would say Modern Talking. Wouldn’t have anything against ABBA, though!”
Matsatso, student, 22

“Don’t know about a band, but Enrique Iglesias would be cool.”
Jilda, unemployed, 27
