The government has made significant changes to the 2008 state budget, according to Prime Minister Zurab Noghaideli.

The amended version will be presented to parliament on November 1, according to the newspaper 24 Saati.

The government expects economic growth to continue in 2008, with Finance Minister Nika Gilauri predicting a ten percent rise in GDP—a nominal increase of 9.4 percent—to reach GEL 20 billion, according to the newspaper Rezonansi.

Noghaideli said social issues, tackling poverty, and education are still budget priorities.
