“Government officials from eighteen states to visit Georgia”
Leaders of 18 nations will visit Georgia to take part in the summit, “Building Europe’s East,” on November 1–4, writes Mteli Kvira.
Among the issues to be discussed are energy and security concerns, cooperation between the EU and it neighbors, democracy development, economic integration and regional conflicts.
On November 3 the delegations are scheduled to leave for the breakaway region of South Ossetia where they will meet Dmitry Sanakoyev, head of the Tbilisi-backed provisional administration, and on November 4 they will visit western Georgia and Adjara.
The summit is co-organized by the George Marshall International Fund.

“Renovation work to start in Kutaisi soon”
Renovation works are due to start in Kutaisi, western Georgia, soon, according to Sakartvelos Respublika.
On October 27 at the official opening of the rehabilitated city of Sighnaghi in eastern Georgia, President Mikheil Saakashvili announced that construction companies involved in the Sighnaghi project will now begin work in Kutaisi.
 “Last year we resurfaced the streets and rehabilitated the water system in Kutaisi. Now I promise Kutaisi city residents that its center will become one of the most beautiful parts of Georgia and the entire world too. Renovation works in Kutaisi will be carried out by the same companies and the same workers that created this wonderland in Sighnaghi,” the president said.

“A new airline has begun operating in Georgia”
The airline BMI has begun operating in Georgia, according to Akhali Taoba.
On October 28 the company was officially unveiled at the Hotel Tbilisi Marriott, the same day its first Tbilisi–London flight touched down in Heathrow.
BMI, which bought out British Mediterranean Airways in January, is the largest airline operating out of Heathrow after British Airways.
The airline is a member of the Star Alliance, the oldest airline alliance in the world, which facilitates cooperation among several airlines with initiatives such as an integrated frequent flyer program.

“Russians afraid that if Georgian regains Abkhazia it will want Sochi too”
Russian news agency NewsInfo has suggested that if the Georgian administration regains control over Abkhazia, then it will demand the Russian city of Sochi too, according to Sakartvelos Respublika.
NewsInfo also asserts that between 1918 and 1921 Georgia actively tried to take Sochi, managing successfully for a short period of time in 1919.
“If Russians do not protect the Abkhaz people then Georgians will spread their control not only to Sokhumi but also up to Sochi,” NewsInfo wrote.

 “Ministry of Internal Affairs destroys drugs”
The newspaper Rezonansi reports that an anti-drug commission has overseen the incineration of a huge amount of illegal drugs on October 28.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that Special Operations Department officials burnt 1900 pills of subutex, 1.5 kilograms of heroin amongst other substances.
