Headline: Koduas’ Mother is Largest Shareholder of Pirimze JSC
The newspaper Akhali Taoba reports that the biggest shareholder of Pirimze JSC is Laura Ghachava, mother of head of Special Operations Department Erekle Kodua and President of Georgian National Airlines Giorgi Kodua.
She holds 36 percent of the company’s shares. According to her, she’s been buying up shares for years.
“JSC Pirimze shareholders have been selling their shares for many years. Some of them died, and I bought the shares on auction. Currently, I own 36 percent of the shares together with 200 other shareholders. And at the same time, two floors of the building are state property,” explained Ghachava.
She added that the joint stock company has several partners including the construction companies Meridiani and Sasko, the company Tbilsakhli and VTB Bank. Pirimze owners took out a loan for the building’s rehabilitation from these companies.
“As soon as the renovation is finished, the market [Lilo City] will be disposed of,” said Ghachava.
Laura Ghachava is the owner of the Lilo City market as well. A new trade center that she built in cooperation with Chinese investors will be opened in the near future.

Headline: Anti-Terrorism Conference Slated for Tbilisi
The newspaper Mteli Kvira reports that the Interpol’s National Bureau in Georgia is sponsoring a meeting in Tbilisi for groups combating international terrorism.
About 60 people from 27 countries are expected to take part, including representatives from Europe, Asia, the US, Interpol, and the OSCE, as well as representatives from Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The Interior Ministry says this is the largest meeting of its kind Tbilisi has seen in years.
The event will be at the Courtyard Marriott July 23–24.

Headline: First Student Forum in Tabakhmela
The newspaper Sakartvelos Respublika reports that the student government association of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) will host the first student forum in Tabakhmela on July 27–30. Leaders of the student association will take part in the forum.
Georgian officials including State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Giorgi Baramidze, Minister of Economic Development Giorgi Arveladze, MP Davit Kirkitadze, Tbilisi State University Rector Giorgi Khubua and political analyst Aleksandre Rondeli will conduct the lectures.
In addition, TSU student government elections will be held.

Headline: Well-known Georgian Singer and TV Journalist Detained in Connection to Armed Robbery
The newspaper Akhali Taoba reports that well-known Georgian singer Achi Purtseladze and First Stereo (1ST) TV personality Tamuna Tskvitinidze have been accused of hiding the perpetrators of an armed robbery on a money exchange booth on Leselidze Street on July 20. A police officer was killed in the attack.
Purtseladze and Tskvitinidze were detained late Sunday night. Their questioning continues at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The crime carries a sentence of two to four years’ imprisonment.
Interior Ministry officials have not commented on the case. Giorgi Monaseridze, initially detained as one of the robbers, was freed after video camera footage proved his innocence.
