Elite Electronics will manage Navtlughi train station
Elite Electronics won a tender to manage the Navtlughi train station for the next 49 years.
The company will pay GEL 22 100 per month for the lease. GEL 20 million will be allocated for rehabilitating the station.
Elite Electronics is the only company that participated in the tender.
The company claims in two or three years, a railway and trade center will be built up to European standards.

Ugulava opens new tourist route
Gigi Ugulava, the mayor of Tbilisi, will open a new tourist route together with Samgori Group on Friday evening.
The route would include a walk on a ship in the Mtkvari river, on the way from Baratashvili Bridge to Ortachala.
The ship will have indoor and outdoor bars. It will be possible to hold receptions and other events in the cabin bar, which will be situated on the first floor of the ship.

City begins dismantling loggias on Kandelaki Street
The Tbilisi municipal service began dismantling illegally built loggias on Kandelaki Street on Monday.
Three loggias have been taken down so far. Owners received advanced notification, and have aired no public protests.
The municipal service has worked on the issue for several months. According to them, the process will continue throughout the city.
The city administration refers to the constructions as "suicide loggias."

Hazel nut factory blown up in western Georgia
On the night of July 29, a processing plant for hazel nuts was blown up in western Georgia.
The business was supposed to open next week, but deliberately placed explosives took down the building.
TNT was found on the grounds of the plant.
The explosion was so strong that houses near the plant were damaged. The factory and its equipment were totally ruined.
The business's owners said that someone was trying to frighten them.

Estonian alpinists run into trouble in Svaneti mountains
Estonian alpinists who suffered injuries in the mountains of Svaneti were taken to Tbilisi after being rescued July 30.
On Sunday, Georgian border guards saved the four alpinists, who were caught in an avalanche on the mountain they were climbing. Border guards administered first aid. According to the head of the Mestia province administration, Nino Japaridze, one of the alpinists suffered head trauma and broke an arm.
Japaridze said the Estonians were climbing without a guide on Tsaneli mountain.

Central market vendors rally
Traders at Tbilisi central market are holding a protest against the appointment of a new director and the sale of the market.
Avtandil Modebadze, a member of the strike committee, told journalists that a new director appeared at the market several days ago. The new director intends to move the vendors to other markets, Modebadze said.
