NGO releases new study of Meskhetian Turks

The European Centre for Minority Issues, together with the recently-founded International Foundation for the Support of Repatriation, released an “authoritative monograph” on Meskhetian Turks on February 1.

The book, entitled “Meskhetian Turks at a Crossroads: Integration, Repatriation or Resettlement?”, details the current integration of Meskhetian Turks worldwide and their desires to return to southwest Georgia.

On January 1, a law for the repatriation of Meskhetian Turks came into effect, fulfilling a Georgian commitment to the Council of Europe.
