“Subeliani will be again a minister”

Akhali Taoba reports that some MPs will be given positions in the new cabinet:

According to released information Zaza Gamtsemlidze, a former environment minister, will return to this position. However, he denies that he has been offered a ministerial role.

Another MP who is expected to enter the cabinet is Koba Subeliani. There were rumors that he would be given a cabinet post before the elections and speculation has grown since he did not become the head of any parliamentary committee.

Will the cabinet change radically? No one is discussing this, but one thing is clear: parliament will support the changes as the ruling party not only has the power to approve the new cabinet but also to change the constitution.

“National Bank published a brochure”

Akhali Taoba reports that the National Bank of Georgia has published a journal:

The publication, called the Main Priorities and Functions of the National Bank of Georgia, details the bank’s history as well as its main principles and functions.

“This is the first edition on the central bank of Georgia. For any country, the central bank is of great importance because the country’s economic development depends on it,” the National Bank president Davit Amaglobeli said at the presentation ceremony.

The publication marks 90 years since the bank was founded.

“New elections will be held in Vake and Didube”

Sakartvelos Respublika writes that, due to United Opposition members rejecting their MP mandates, repeat elections will be held in two Tbilisi districts next month:

Central Elections Commission spokesman Zurab Kachkachishvili announced this and said that the CEC will set the date of the new elections.

Opposition members Davit Saganelidze and Davit Gamkrelidze won in Vake and Didube districts but rejected their MP mandates in protest [at alleged vote-rigging]. The residents of these two districts will make their choice again.

“Machavariani and Bolkvadze are vice speakers”

Sakartvelos Respublika reports that two MPs have been made parliamentary vice speakers:

Majoritarian MP Khulo, Anzor Bolkvadze, has been made parliamentary vice speaker.

Other candidates for this post were majoritarian MPs Temur Charkviani, from Batumi, and Elguja Makaridze, from Shuakhevi.

According to rumors the first vice speaker will be Mikheil Machavariani.

Whether the number of vice speakers will be increased is not yet known.
