“Tortladze and Tsagareishvili have declared a boycott to the authorities”

Akhali Taoba reports that two MPs who split from the United Opposition coalition are yet to decide when they will take up their seats in parliament:

“Former members of the United Opposition Gia Tortladze and Gia Tsagareishvili have not yet decided when they will attend parliament sessions.

According to Tortladze they are independent people and they will enter parliament ‘when they want.’

Tortladze says that it is already the tenth day that he and Tsagareishvili have been boycotting parliament due to the government’s politics and that ending the boycott is dependent on the way political events develop in the country.

At the same time Tortladze comments that participating in the work of parliament does not mean only attending sessions—he says he will hold briefings, make comments and participate in some events.”

“Goguadze will replace Ugulava”

Mteli Kvira reports that MP Giorgi Goguadze could replace Gigi Ugulava as Tbilisi mayor, who will in turn, it is rumored, become prime minister:

“The authorities want Goguadze to be appointed Tbilisi mayor. According to information obtained by Mteli Kvira, after Ugulava becomes prime minister, MP Giorgi Goguadze will be appointed in his place. In order for this to happen the government will hold local elections soon.”

“Diplomatic passes for former MPs”

Two new ambassadors have been appointed, 24 Saati writes:

“Kote Gabashvili has returned to diplomacy. He was ambassador to Germany from 1993–2004 and now he will defend our country’s interests in Italy, Malta and San Marino. He will also be a representative Georgia to the UN in Rome.

In Romania and Moldova Levan Metreveli will represent Georgia.”
