Council of Europe launches good governance project

Thursday, July 10
The Council of Europe, with the support form the Danish neighborhood program for the Caucasus 2008–2009, has begun a project called “Enhancing good governance, human rights and rule of law in Georgia.”

The project consists of three interrelated components: improving the capacity of the Georgian judicial system; support the human rights ombudsman; and strengthening the state’s capacity for dealing with minority issues.

Danish Foreign Minister Per Stig Moller and Georgian counterpart Eka Tkeshelashvili were among the officials attending the presentation on July 8.
