Remittances up against last year’s figures

In June 2008 remittances were 32.9 percent higher than in June 2007, totaling USD 84.4 million, according to the newspaper Rezonansi’s business supplement.

The bulk of remittances came from Russia, accounting for nearly two-thirds of the total. Ukraine was next, accounting for eight percent of total transfers, six percentage points down from last year’s figure.
