Kazakhstan stays in BTC

Kazakhstan Ambassador to Azerbaijan Jansiserik Primbetov, in an interview with an Azeri website, has confirmed that the war in Georgia had had negative impact on Kazakh transit projects. However, he stated that Kazakhstan is not considering withdrawing from the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline project.

The Ambassador said that in a couple of years, when the Kashagan oilfield is activated, the country will double its oil production. Therefore Kazakhstan will definitely participate in BTC, but perhaps several years from now.
