EU welcomes Armenia-Iran railway

EU Commissioner for Transport Antonio Tajani has hailed the construction of the Armenia-Iran railway.

This railway needs a minimum of USD 1 billion to be constructed. Armenian President Sarkisian considers its construction a priority but it will take approximately 5 years to complete.

Armenia has been considering three possible routes for the line. Iran and Armenia are now conducting serious full length negotiations on this issue.
