Turkey among the tourism leaders

In 2008 Turkey entered the lists of the top ten tourist income-receiving countries and the top ten tourist-receiving countries, says the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

In 2009 Turkey hosted 26 million tourists and received a tourist income of USD 21 billion. The Antalia Province alone hosted more than 9 million tourists in 2008, as many as visited the whole of Egypt.
