Liberty Diaries

Radio Liberty’s Georgian Service has created a book and documentary film called the Liberty Diaries, which was presented to the public on February 3.

The diary project involved 52 citizens of Georgia from different layers of the population (journalists, officials, sportsmen, writers and other professionals) each keeping a diary for one week in 2008 and submitting it to Radio Liberty. Their writings are full of emotion, personal feelings, observations and meditations. They describe personal, public, political and other events with direct sentiment and intimate feeling. The documentary showed people filled with tragedy during the August war, which from an emotional point of view dominated other issues.

The Liberty Diaries were devised and created by David Kakabadze, Marina Vashakmadze and a team of supporters. The documentary was directed by Andro Chiaureli. We can only welcome such a professional approach and the results of this united endeavour. Long Live Liberty!
