Friday, May 29The tourist season is open but there are not many tourists entering Georgia. Tourism department head Petre Kankava stated that in May a 7% decrease in incoming tourists has been observed.
The instability in the country is cited as the major reason for this. Some countries are putting Georgia in the ‘at your own risk’ category and recommending that their citizens do not travel there. The Economic Development Ministry has said that the protest actions in the country have been negatively influencing the country’s tourist image for the last two months.
