Citizens limit their expenditure

According to a poll and research carried out by ACT in May 39% of residents of Georgia’s big cities feel that during the last six months their financial situation has deteriorated. Almost 50% of urban dwellers have decreased their expenditure.

Citizens of urban areas have been economising on shoes, clothes and other accessories. They are also cutting down on going to restaurants, cafes and movie theatres. They are buying fewer luxury goods such as cigarettes, alcohol, home appliances, home accessories and jewellery. Some people have also started economising on food, very sadly.

Savings are being made in two ways – people are buying both fewer and cheaper goods.
