Germany celebrates the fall of the Berlin Wall

The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Goethe Institute Georgia held a discussion and reception on the occasion of the 20th anniversary from the fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9. At the panel discussion Ambassador of Germany HE Patricia Flor, Ambassador of Estonia to Georgia HE Toomas Lukk and Professor Gigi Tevzadze, Rector of the Ilia Chavchavadze State University, spoke about their vision of the impact of the fall of the Berlin Wall, gave personal recollections and evaluated the importance of this event for this country.

The audience, representatives of the diplomatic corps and the local community, also participated in the discussion, highlighting the importance of the event for the development of world democracy at the end of the 20th century. The audience watched a dramatic documentary film which showed episodes in the erection and later demolition of the Berlin Wall.
