The management of the Tbilisi Marriott Hotel organised a special event there on December 9 at which the wives of foreign businessmen and political figures presented cakes they had baked at home. Event Manager of Tbilisi Marriott Ani Chabukiani told The Messenger that "This is the second successive year we have held this event. The women participating are the wives of foreign diplomats, politicians and businessmen, who are the clients of our hotel. These ladies also have a club and are involved in charitable activities, in which our hotel actively collaborates with them.”

Yesterday’s competition attracted fewer women than last year. Four cakes were presented, each with different ingredients and an original design. Three winners were named and given special gifts. Third prize was a Sunday brunch for two, second prize was being made a member of the hotel, entitling the holder to various discounts and privileges, and first prize was spending one night free of charge at the hotel. The winner was selected by a special jury of three persons, the Entree Bakehouse’s heads chef, the head of the President’s nutrition group and one of the managers of the hotel. Patricia Culpepper, the winner of last year’s competition, was also declared the winner of this one with some fanfare.

Patricia Culpepper said that she likes this event, which is perfectly organised by the hotel’s administration and will participate again if she has an opportunity,” I am glad the jury and the people gathered here liked my cake,” she added.

The Tbilisi Marriott hopes that this tradition will continue in future and the number of participants will grow.
