Armenian Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandian stated on January 22 in Yerevan that no breakthrough is expected in the near future in resolving the Karabakh problem. This comment refers to the nine meetings between the Armenian and Azerbaijan Presidents in 2009, which took place in various different circumstances. Three of these meetings were sponsored by Russia.

Nalbandian used the speech to express his country’s gratitude to President Medvedev for receive the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Sochi on his initiative.
