Gorbachev warning about Karabakh conflict

The first and the last President of the Soviet Union is categorically against any further military action being taken in Karabakh, warning that bigger states might become involved in the conflict if this happens.

Remembering the eighties of the last century, Mikhail Gorbachev mentioned that while President he had got the Azeri leadership to agree to grant Karabakh the status of an autonomous republic, but unfortunately this did not happen, though there had been a possibility to resolve this problem peacefully. He also stated that today it is almost impossible to see Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan.
