Cream Teas with CATS Canterbury

Monday, April 12
CATS Canterbury, part of Cambridge Education Group, the UK’s leading provider of pre-university programmes, celebrated the first announcement of university offers for its International Baccalaureate students with a Cream Tea Evening in Tbilisi on Friday 9 April.

The event, by invitation only, allowed students, parents and agents to meet and discuss the benefits of the International Baccalaureate Diploma - the fastest growing pre-university programme in the world. The university offers received by CATS Canterbury students reinforce the strength of the International Baccalaureate in the eyes of the best universities in the UK and overseas.

The evening, hosted by the Principal of CATS Canterbury, Ms Marie-Louise Banning, included a presentation on the International Baccalaureate Diploma and the specialised study skills taught at CATS Canterbury. With a personalised learning approach, unlimited additional tuition and unique Two Grades Higher promise students regularly exceed their expectations.

Bo Re Son commented “The International Baccalaureate challenges me academically and personally and as such has made me a better person. I am aiming for entry to the University of Cambridge and the IB has enabled me to broaden my subject choice rather than specialise to really discover what I want to focus on at university.”

Chris Broadhurst from CATS Canterbury told The Messenger, "The reason we are here is to provide people with information on the studying opportunities available for Georgian Students in the UK. We're offering Georgian students the opportunity to come to us to prepare for university and then to progress on to the top universities in the UK. Students who go to the UK will go to our institutions, which are privately funded, but our mission is to develop international understanding through the means of education. We offer scholarships, we try to get students recognised in terms of merit, and opportunities are produced as a consequence of that. This is the first event of this kind in Georgia but I personally have been here three times."

Interviews and testing for September 2010 entry to the International Baccalaureate Diploma were arranged following the event. Information on scholarships and bursaries was also available. For more information contact Chris Broadhurst on cbroadhurst@ceg-uk.com or visit www.catscanterbury.com/IB

CATS Canterbury offers a wide range of pre-university programmes including International Baccalaureate, A level, University Foundation and Pre-Programme and Academic English.
