What do you think of President Saakashvili’s three week absence from Georgia?

Thursday, May 6
I think that he had a wonderful journey to the US, the country he admires. I wish he would stay there and receive citizenship. Mikheil Saakashvili is a person without any political sense. How can such a president care for his people?

Well Saakashvili’s visit to the US had been vague from the very beginnings. He was than deterred by the volcanic eruption, but still, such a long absence was kind of fun. I have never read or heard that a president of the state had left his country for so long ever in my life. Thank God nothing wrong happened within the country.

It’s just very strange that the president spends most time outside country. It’s at least rude if not to say that it is awful.

I think it was the longest trip for him. In general, he likes trips very much, but by this last one was too long, to my mind, as it seems it was very important for him from the political viewpoint. Herewith he has been invited by Obama, which was one more confirmation of Georgian American friendship and opportunity for Saakashvili to talk privately with the President of the United States.
Giorgi, teacher, 32

I think that by his three week’s voyage, Mikheil Saakashvili has tried his best to raise his rating in the eyes of foreign representations, leaders and just ordinary foreigners. As far as I know, after August war of 2008, Saakashvili has not attended such important summit, as was that one organized by Obama and it was a chance for Saakashvili to talk about his attitudes internationally.

I think that he was trying to meet and talk in private with Barak Obama, but the President of the United States did not give him such chance and during those three weeks Saakashvili was waiting for his calling.
