A working meeting on copyright protection matters was held at the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia (Sakpatenti) on Thursday. The management of the centre and members of the Composers Union discussed mechanisms for protecting copyright and also mulled over the proper royalties which should be paid to composers if their compositions are used by others.

The National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia intends to continue holding meetings on these issues for a month. Foreign experts will also be engaged in the process of drawing up a relevant action plan, which will be ready for September 2010.
