Memorandum Was Signed Between MES and Tbilisi City Court

A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and Tbilisi City Court.

According to the Memorandum, 11th graders are now able to attend the seminars organized by Tbilisi City Court twice a month. Schoolchildren will have the opportunity to get familiarized with the juveniles’ rights based on an international convention, current reforms of the court, the role of the judicial branch among the government branches, jury, crime prevention as well as many other matters.

The project is designed to advance the level of civic education among adults. “Informing the schoolchildren about the ongoing reforms of the country and improving their citizen responsibility is very important” – announced the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Koka Sepherteladze after signing the Memorandum.

Forty 11th graders of Tbilisi Public Schools attended the Memorandum signing ceremony. The first seminar on the activities of Tbilisi City Court was held for the schoolchildren after the signing of the Memorandum.
