Emigration from Armenia

In 2010 around 25,000 families left Armenia. Most of those who leave do so because of the poor economic conditions; some however have political reasons. Many rural inhabitants have been forced to sell their land but stay to work for the new owners.

Independent analysts have criticised Armenia’s 2011budget for appearing to aim to eliminate small and medium business. In January 2010 the population of Armenia was 3.25 million.
