Education Minister attends “Abituri” Hours

“Abituri” hours are included in the schedule of 12th graders on the subjects that they will take in the 2010-2011 High School exams, 24 Hours reports. “Abituri” hours are reflected in the National Curriculum and envisage repeating the covered material. Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkin attended the biology lesson in the scope of “Abituri” hours in a Tbilisi school. The Minister spoke about the new CAT system. High School exams will be held according to this system.

“Abituri” hours will be given in all subjects that school children will take during the High School exams. These are the following subjects: Georgian Language and Literature (Georgian as the second language for non-Georgian schools), mathematics, foreign language, history of Georgia and world history, geography, physics, chemistry and biology.

“Abituri” hours give pupils an opportunity to revise the covered material and get better prepared for the exams and the pupils do not receive scores during “Abituri”.

Giving “Abituri” hours in the subjects that are not taught in the 12th form is particularly important. These subjects are: geography, biology and physics.

“According to the President’s order, we began distributing items in the villages of the conflict zone. A large amount of flour and wood has already been distributed in the villages,” the minister of agriculture said.
