What do you think about the visa free regime with Iran?

I remember how the Government of Georgia tried to obtain a visa free regime with the European Union… There is one particular thing we have to consider – what does Georgia actually want? I mean do we simply want something new with any country or something in particular. There is such a great difference between the EU and Iran that I can’t even express my irritation.

I wonder why we actually need a visa free regime with Iran. Does the Georgian Government consider that the Georgian people will start visiting Iran for sightseeing? No the main aim of our authorities is tourism – the more foreign tourists, the more economical welfare. That’s it.

Our authorities have tried for a visa free regime with Europe and finally we received visa free regime with Iran… this is a paradoxical situation, in my opinion.
