Bollywood May Shoot Movie in Georgia

Bollywood may shoot a movie in Georgia, according to Prime Minister’s spokesperson Niko Mchedlishvili, 24 Hours reports.

A delegation headed by the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Vera Kobalia was hosted by Bollywood star Amir Khan who was offered to shoot a movie in Georgia.

‘We introduced Georgia’s tourist potential to him. We spoke about Georgia in detail and we gave him a photo album as a present. When Bollywood’s studio decides to shoot a movie, it attracts tourists to the country,’ Mchedlishvili stated.

Amir Khan promised he would think about the proposal and inform his colleagues about it.

Niko Mchedlishvii states that Government of Georgia continues negotiations with MTV.



MPs demand pardoning of 18 year old prisoner

The MPs Dimitri Lortkipanidze, Levan Vepkhvadze and Giorgi Tsagareishvili demand unconditional clemency for the juvenile prisoner Gvantsa Kuparadze, Akhali Taoba reports.

According to their information, the 18-years old youngster has been in prison for 4 years and during this period she spent 20 months in a single-cell.

"We are not concerned with the issue of liability and ask for the arranging of accommodation issues for the prisoner”,-Dimitri Lortkipanidze stated at today’s briefing.

"According to his information, the UN standards and the Convention on the Rights of the Child were violated in regard to Gvantsa Kuparadze."

The MPs ask the President to consider the issue of accommodation of Gvantsa Kuparadze during the process of the clemency planned on November 23.
