Russia and Armenia have established trade economic relations based on political dialogue as well as friendly relations between their peoples, according to a statement made by vice president of trade industrial chamber of Russia, Georgy Petrov on December 6. He hopes that trade turnover between the two countries in 2011 will be higher than the previous year’s figure of more than USD 1 billion. “Russia announced the major direction of its economic policy and in this context Armenia is a priority of Russian policy,” stated Petrov. He also mentioned that the relationship between the two countries has further potential, in particular using nuclear energy, as well as high technologies and agriculture.
