How would you assess the recent public assembly meeting in front of the parliament?

Wednesday, December 8
I think all the rallies carried out by opposition have been in vain. I mean they have no strategic plan to offer their supporters, thus everyone feels confused whether to follow them or not.
Irma, Dentist, 27

All the public assembly meetings have their particular purpose. As a constant attendee of their rallies I must confess that I have never wanted to be an oppositionist in my life but I can’t respect my Government which doesn’t care for me or thousands of ordinary citizens like me. That’s why I have a very positive opinion about the assembly and I hope that we will reach our goals together!

Well, I did not participate in the Assembly meeting on Rustaveli Avenue, as I had a serious reason for this. If I were not busy, I would take part, as I think that the present situation in Georgia is unbearable and becoming more and more worse. That meeting should be a marker for the authorities that people need them to respond adequately, if they will not change their anti Georgian politics.
Giorgi, Engineer, 54

I think that the opposition has one more time failed. If there was a strong opposition in the country, the current government would have been replaced long ago. One of the main reasons why the authorities are acting so freely is the opposition, as it is unable to fulfill its duty accordingly. However, it was quite a large scale manifestation and the authorities should think about it.
Tamar, Painter, 32

It was nothing serious. A lot of people in the country are not satisfied with their living conditions, however, most of them do not see anyone who might be better than the current president. It is the worst thing. People are disappointed
Madona, Dancer, 28

I think it was a senseless gathering. I don’t know why the opposition decided to bother the people to come to Tbilisi from Georgia’s regions if it had no definite plans what to do when people got here. The credibility of the radical opposition now equals zero.”
Megi, Nurse, 35

The opposition missed yet another chance to do something. If you observe, less and less people gather in front of the Parliament to protest together with the opposition. It means that people are already tired of hearing only words and seeing no actions.
Shota, Civil Engineer, 54

I don’t know exactly how it went, because I did not attend the Assembly, however I think angry people just let off some steam and went back home without reaching any visible results. This is not how things work in a normal country.”
