Polish labour market opens for Georgians

From January 1, 2011 citizens of Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine who want to work in Poland can enter the country provided they obtain the necessary legal document from their employer in Poland. Thus, this document should be submitted to the regional labour organizations in Poland. This step taken by Polish government is largely motivated by the fact that Polish citizens started migrating to different EU countries, particularly Germany, which made its labour market quite attractive for Polish citizens starting from May 2011. All these steps are the result of the successful implementation of the project of eastern partnership initiated by Poland and Sweden some years ago. Whether or no this becomes beneficial for Georgia will become clear some years later. Aside from economic issues, it is also likely to have a noticeable impact on the demographic situation in Georgia.
