Georgian officials are stubbornly insisting that they expect to receive1 bln USD of investments in 2011. A similar forecast was made for 2010, however in the forst 9 months of last year only USD 433 mln was actually invested. It is unlikely that figure will increase dramatically when the results of three last months are available. Director of the National Investment Agency Keti Bochorishvhili stated in 2011 that the priorities for investment will be for energy, tourism and agricultural sectors. As Bochorishvili stated, the number one priority of these target areas is agriculture. The Georgian government still continues to boast that the country is ripe and receptive to foreign investment.
