Businessmen will create a new party

Information is being spread that some businessmen of Georgian origin operating abroad plan to create a new political party in Georgia in the autumn. The target of the party will be participating in the 2012 parliamentary elections. Currently a world renowned PR company is working on the name and slogan of the party. The research is being completed in Georgia in this direction.

The initiator of this new party and its founder is a refugee from Abkhazia, businessman Mindia Gulua, who is currently living in Russia. Some time ago the businessman met a group of Georgians in Istanbul and discussed the issue of creating party in Georgia. According to him he will promote the credentials of honest people with high professional standards who have not previously been involved in political activities. According to him the party will be open to people with different nationalities and religions, to strengthen Georgia’s statehood, its sovereignty and integrity.

As one of the participants of this meeting Levan Anjaparidze, director, said, the priority will be territorial integrity of the country, developing the economy and a new agricultural strategy. One of the major targets of the new party founders is to create Georgia as an agrarian country able to satisfy not only local needs but exports too. The foreign policy of the country will be integrating into the European structures, partnership with the USA and thus to achieve the goal of entering the EU. Meanwhile they hope to establish good neighbourly relations with Russia and other neighbouring countries restoring trade, economic and other links with them.
