Indian interest in investing in Georgia

A conference organised by “Rakia Georgia” and Indian Chamber of Commerce concerning the Poti Free Industrial Zone, held in Mumbai on February 22 was attended by members of Indian business circles. Ministers of Economy and Sustainable Development and Finance, Vera Kobalia and Kakha Baindurashili respectively, gave a presentation to the Indian businessmen and answered their questions.

While Indian businessmen are quite interested in the Poti FIZ, this is not the only area they are interested in. They are ready to discuss the possibilities of investing in the agricultural, tourism, textile, real estate and energy sectors.

It was announced during the conference that a large delegation of the Indian business union – the association of the chambers of commerce, will visit Georgia. Representatives of leading Indian companies will be among the delegation. The Georgian Government will continue its business negotiations with India during the visit.
