CDM meets scientists

Wednesday, March 2
The Christian Democratic Movement parliamentary faction headed by MP Giorgi Targamadze met with various scientific representatives (from the fields of biology, physics, history, etc.) to discuss the different matters currently experienced by Georgian science. The scholars highlighted the hardship Georgian science faces because of lack of financing and the need for development of science and technology being ignored. They pointed out that the once famous Georgian intellect and education is deteriorating dramatically. The Christian Democrat Movement promised to raise the question of support for science with parliament, together with other issues – in particular the preservation of the mother tongue in the new national security proposals.
