Armenia cannot become customs union member

Thursday, March 24Armenia’s PM Tigran Sarkisian cannot join the Belarus-Kazakh-Russia customs union unless Georgia joins as well. Therefore Armenia will try to integrate with the European Union. Realistically Georgia will not join to this union and therefore, as Armenia has no land border to any of those countries, it will be technically impossible for Armenia to join the union. Tigran Sarkisian mentioned that there is no point in joining a customs union with a country with which you do not share a land border. The Armenian PM expressed his confidence that his country may become the member of a free trade relations agreement with EU countries.
