Tbilisi hosts conference on oil, gas, infrastructure and energy

The 10th Georgian international oil, gas, infrastructure and energy conference (GIOGIE) is taking place in Tbilisi on March 29-30. The international forum aims at discussing and debating important issues of transit and security of supply within the Southern Energy Corridor and the Black Sea and Caspian regions. The conference brought together representatives from the Georgian government and senior level management from domestic and global oil and gas companies.

The event, sponsored by Batumi Oil Terminal, BP and Cross Caspian, hosts the representatives of Georgia’s Energy Ministry, as well as the Ministry of Environment Protection, the Ministry of Regional Development and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development. The representatives from each Ministry and state energy organizations will give presentations at the conference with an insight into the management of Georgia’s energy sector.

The Head of Oil and Gas events, Graeme Coombes stressed the importance of the event, which is organized by ITE Group. “GIOGIE is situated at the heart of the regions’ oil, gas and energy activity and brings together influential leaders from the global energy industry. The programme reflets the Diversity of international investment and business opportunities in Georgia, while delving into important issues in energy transit,” Coombes said.
