Applicationd for receiving Georgian citizenship

As the deputy head of Georgia’s Civil Registry, Giorgi Gabrielashvili stated the number of people wanting to receive Georgian citizenship is steadily increasing. In 2009 the figures for applicants from various countries were: Russia – 3346, Israel – 99, Ukraine – 60, Greece – 46, USA – 45, Iran 40 and Kazakhstan 44. In 2010 the figures were: Russia – 5040, Israel – 142; USA- 89, Greece – 79, Iran – 65, Armenia 56 and Ukraine 50.
