Where is Bitsadze?

The recordings of the Ministry of Internal Affairs which are being publicized have shown footage of two more politicians. During the demonstrations Vladimir Khomeriki and Alexander Ebralidze appeared before our eyes as Burjanadze’s active supporters. They published one statement after another to tell the society about their support towards the demonstrations, newspaper Alia writes.

Rumours on the sidelines assert that Bitsadze has already left the country, and now he is hiding in neighbouring Azerbaijan. There is still no answer to the question why the Prosecutor’s Office decided to solicit the court to use a pledge as a preventive punishment for Badri Bitsadze. Six members of Bitsadze’s entourage have been detained already; three of them are injured. According to the statement of the Prosecutor’s Office the question of adding Bitsadze to the wanted list depends on his collaboration with the investigation.

”The investigation is still on. It is too early to talk about the details. If during the investigation there will be raised the question of finding out somebody's guilt and his collaboration with this group, it of course will give rise to the questions from the investigation,” the head of Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Shota Utiashvili says in the interview with the reporter of Alia.

“The newspaper also tried to contact the Prosecutor’s Office. However, nobody picked up the phone there. As it concerns the head of Ebralidze’s foundation Nana Japaridze, in the conversation with Alia she emphasized that Tbilisi branch of the foundation has only a humanitarian function. It has nothing in common with policy. She didn’t talk to Ebralidze about any other question,” the author of the article writes.

Russian military forces in Akhalgori

Right in the heart of Akhalgori a military town is being constructed. The construction of a living block, which stands on the place of Akhalgori boarding school, started in the summer of 2010 and will be finished this September, newspaper Kviris Palitra informs.

According to experts’ point of view, this is a clear demonstration that the Kremlin is going to strengthen the position of Russian militaries in Akhalgori and to change the demographical situation. This will lead to the destruction of the restoration of Georgia’s jurisdiction over Ksani ravine in the near future.

The local population is involved in the construction of the town though the majority of the workers are Chechens. At the moment Russian militaries live in rented flats. They occupy the houses of those residents of Akhalgori, who live now in Tserovani and travel to Akhalgori to receive rent.

The construction is non-stop. It is planned to renew the Russian school which has been in poor condition since 2008. Local residents say that reconstructions will not change anything in their lives.

“It means that the Russians are going to stay in Akhalgori for a long time. This fact shows that the statements of the Georgian side about the restoration of jurisdiction over Akhalgori in January, then in May are just a myth. This is the way they fool poor residents of Akhalgori. All this, unfortunately, is evidence that Russians are not going to leave Akhalgori. Russians need it for sure. Today Ossetians got a bitter lesson as they see how Abkhazians are being lead to the deadlock by Russians. It’s true that Russians do not do the same in Ossetia but they just secure themselves,” Paata Zakareishvili says.
