On June 8, 2011 in the Turkish town of Kayseri representatives of 5 transiting countries interested in the implementation of the NABUCCO project signed a special agreement to support these plans. Representatives of the appropriate ministries of Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Turkey signed a document which in fact represents the basic judicial act for implementing the project. This is the strongest legal document to which the interested parties have so far signed The agreeing parties expressed satisfaction with the conclusion of the agreement and held the first session of the political committee of NABUCCO project where it was decided that better and effective coordination should be established between participant countries and the process should be accelerated as there is an increasing demand for natural gas in Europe. Meanwhile the Turkish Energy Minister stated on June 8 that among the countries who are being considered as possible suppliers for the project there are Azerbaijan Turkmenistan, Iraq and even Russia.
