Presentation of a New Technological Park was held

Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini attended a presentation of IT Technological Park at the Georgia Technical University. Within the scope of the event, the goals and activities of the IT Technological Park was discussed and presentation of the joint project of this technological park and Georgia Technical University’s Student’s Self-Government Body “Stunet” was held. The IT Technological Park of the Georgian Technical University was established with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and encourages development of innovative ideas in the IT field, the students engaged in the activities of the IT Technological Park will have an opportunity to invent and implement business ideas and become owners of successful IT projects.

IT Technological Park participants will get involved in the process of development of IT products, the institution provides participants with practical skills and knowledge as it enables them to actively participate in commercial ordering. Twice a year, new ideas are generated and the best 2 projects are implemented by the members of the technological park.

“Stunet” project is a joint venture of the IT Technological Park and Georgia Technical University’s Student’s Self- Government Body and it is a social network.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia has been initiated to establish innovative technological parks on the base of the higher educational institutions. Apart from IT field, technological parks will be set up in different fields of studies at the Georgian technical University. This will contribute to the enhancement of the Georgian economy, up to 10 000 students will be employed at the technological parks. On the one hand, the students will have opportunity to take up an internship; on the other hand, they will earn money. Establishment of Technological Parks will boost operation of various industrial companies in Georgia.
