Conference on modern methods of teaching English language

The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini has attended an international conference on the modern methods of teaching the English language. The conference was attended by more than 100 teachers from Tbilisi and other regions of Georgia.

The conference was organized by National Center for Teacher Professional Development with support of Exclusive Representative of McMillan Education to Georgia - Company “English Book in Georgia”.

The event was carried out in the scope of the memorandum signed between the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and McMillan Education. In the frames of the event Georgian teachers attended the workshops given by British linguists on modern methods of teaching the English language.

According to the memorandum, McMillan Education is responsible for training all Georgian English language teachers and provides them with English language textbooks and supplementary materials free of charge. In the scope of the project 4200 English language teachers of all Georgian public schools will pass 3 day trainings.

From the new academic year, Georgian schoolchildren will have the opportunity to study with English language textbooks published by one of the world’s best publishers.

According to the statement of International Marketing Director of McMillan Education Jo Greig: “It is a great honor for McMillan Education to cooperate with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and support such an innovative project as teaching the English language using modern teaching methods.”

For Georgian schoolchildren there will be a significant discount in the price of the textbooks - 10 GEL instead of 26 GEL

Nowadays McMillan Education is the third on the list of the world’s best publishers of English language textbooks and supplementary educational materials.
