Ukraine increases its liquid gas facilities

Ukraine is determined to construct a terminal for liquefied gas transportation on the Black Sea coast. An open tender has been announced for constructing this facility. Ukraine PM Nikolay Azarov recently stated that his country is 100% dependent on Russian gas but it is actively working to diversify its supply. They announced that Ukraine is starting to construct a liquefied gas terminal and it is also conducting negotiations to import such gas from Azerbaijan and some central Asian countries. On January 28, 2011 Ukraine and Azerbaijan signed a memorandum on the issue of transporting Azeri liquid gas to Ukraine.
